FIFA 1904

otis college of art & design

Tessa’s senior mentor project at Otis college, in collaboration with FIFA 1904 design staff Marcus Clayton, Leonardo Lawson, and Verona Tu. These tailored yet sporty and well-insulated looks are inspired by Tessa’s home in the Pacific Northwest, drawing from her experiences getting up before dawn for practice on the cold, dark mornings of Washington state’s fall and winter seasons. While she’s never been very good at soccer, Tessa loves to swim long-distance, where the athlete’s focus is full-body form control.

The collection expresses how precision, grace, and freedom of mobility are champion in sports, whether in the pool and on the field. The customer, a sports photographer, is striving to catch the beauty of athletes playing in the wee hours while fighting to stave off the cold.
